The biggest challenge I faced during Dracula was the time constraint. Several days of tech rehearsals were lost due to Hurricane Helene. The basement of the Theater flooded and the whole town lost power for a few days. But the show must go on! After a few longs days and nights, I programmed the show in time for opening and made time to train a new board op. Despite these set backs, Dracula was able to open on time and had a very successful run.

My favorite part of the design process was collaborating with the set designers to help both of our visions come true. As part of the collaboration with lighting and set, we relied heavily on practical lighting, using various effects to create power surges in the show. UV paint on the set was highlighted with UV footlights to make the set glow. Working shoulder to shoulder with such talented people made Dracula a very successful show.
