The Blumey Awards are a regional high school theater awards presentation in Charlotte, NC. A board of judges travel to 56 local area High Schools and judge each school’s performance on a variety of categories. Currently, the only three award categories for tech are Stage Management, Costume Design, and Set Design. I was given the opportunity to be the Assistant Lighting Designer for the 2025 Blumey Awards!
I assisted in designing all of the pieces and was the head designer for “Magic to do”, which was my original show performed by my High School. North Lincoln High School’s Pippin ended up winning Best Musical, along with best direction and best supporting actress.
I also received The Gordan Hay Scholarship, which is an amount of $10,000 awarded to a student pursuing a non-performance career in the theatre industry.
